Updates Regarding Covid-19

Update: March 31, 2020

In support of efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19,

in-person gatherings of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Hartselle are suspended from April 13th The church building is closed to public access. Essential staff are working remotely or in seclusion.

For these next Sundays, we plan to have live on-line Sunday worship services. Check details and updates as they are announced on our Facebook page. Mark your calendars to be online together during those times. https://www.facebook.com/fumchartselle/

If you need pastoral help while time the office is closed, please leave a voice message on the church answering machine at 256-773-6952. Someone will check it daily.

Those in a Sunday school classes or small groups can check-in with each other via phone, text, email, or social media. Where feasible, many groups may meet virtually via web or phone conference.

Be assured that we can still worship the Lord as His church even when we can’t gather at 210 Hickory Street. The church of Jesus Christ is not a building anyway. Let’s be patient and remember those who are at the greatest risk. It will require some adjustments for many, but we want to do all we can to not spread this terrible disease. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea...” (Psalm 46:1-2).
