The transition between children’s ministry and youth ministry can be challenging. Our church has a ministry designed specifically for students in the 5th and 6th grades. We call it THE LINK.
Wednesday Night Alive
Psalm 1 Society
For: ALL 5th & 6th Grade Boys - Begins: August 24 - 6:30 PM Room 312
The purpose of this group is to help our young men as they move from childhood to young adulthood and give them skills to help them through their teenage years. We want to enable confidence, faithfulness, and character in these students as they learn what it means to be devoted followers of Jesus. Lessons will be focused on real life issues with biblical application. Along the way, our boys will be encouraged to support each other and develop habits that will sustain their faith throughout their lives.

For: 5th & 6th Grade Girls - Begins August 24 - 6:30 PM Room 311
The purpose of this group is to help our young ladies as they move from childhood to young adulthood and give them skills to help them through their teenage years. We want to enable strength, confidence, and diligence in these students as they learn what it means to be daughters of the living God. Lessons will be focused on real life issues with biblical application. Along the way, our girls will be encouraged to support each other and develop habits that will sustain their faith throughout their lives.

5th Grade – Room
Students are taught lessons on the bible in an environment that helps them to explore their faith. We help them learn to use their bibles, so that they can continue to discover its treasures throughout their lives.
6th Grade – Room 309
Students are exposed to the basics of the faith. We use the Apostle's Creed as a template for discovering the mysteries of the faith. Students who would like to be a part of the confirmation class in the spring are encouraged to be a part of this group as it serves as a primer for those topics that come up during confirmation.
The confirmation class for 6th graders meets during the spring. These classes are usually held for 4-5 Sunday nights and end just before Easter. Students learn the basics of the faith, Church History, what it means to be United Methodist, and how becoming a confirmed member makes a difference in their lives. At the end of the class, students are offered the option to join the church on Confirmation Sunday.
Additional Details for 6th graders
All students in 6th grade are invited to be a part of Discovery weekend with the student ministry. It is an exciting time of discipleship, fun, and worship that draws students closer to Christ. It also serves as a “kickoff” to their confirmation education.
After Confirmation Sunday, all 6th graders are invited to join the Student Ministry for the remainder of the school year and summer. This means they are eligible for all activities, trips, and events.
