Welcome to our website. I believe that this site is much more than just information. I think it is an opportunity for ministry – a way for the good news of Jesus Christ to be shared. So I pray that as you look at the different pages on this site that the Holy Spirit will lead you to a deeper level of commitment to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
At FUMC Hartselle we believe that Jesus Christ is the hope of the world. The church is his body and we are called to carry out his mission. The church does not have a mission; God’s mission has a church. In Matthew’s gospel, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and said, “Do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you will give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Our worship services center around the Cross. Jesus Christ, God’s only son, gave his life so that you and I could be forgiven. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” We celebrate the Resurrection also. Death could not keep him in the grave! On the third day, Jesus came out of the grave alive. Fifty-two Sundays a year we gather to celebrate the fact that God came to us and made a way whereby “whoever believes in him would not perish but have everlasting life.” It is our wonderful privilege to share that glorious message!
If you are looking for a church to partner with to allow the Holy Spirit to use you to make a difference in this world, come give us a try. I am excited to be the senior pastor of this great church. Our best days are ahead and we would love for you to be a part of it.
For His Glory,
Pastor Mike Pope

WHO WE ARE
The United Methodist Church is a worldwide church of twelve million people descended from the ministry of Rev. John Wesley (1709-1792). Our church is warm-hearted and life centered. We believe in adherence to the basics of faith without strict doctrinal requirements. We have many distinctive contributions to Christianity including disciple-making small groups and the emphasis on both experience and belief.
Our Early Service offers the traditional setting of a sanctuary with a less formal worship structure. The liturgy has a less structured format than the 11:00 Service. This service incorporates traditional hymns and other music as presented by our Music Ministries.
Please join us for this service at 8:45 AM on Sunday mornings.
Our contemporary service is called CROSSTIES and is a vital part of our community. Each service is filled with modern worship music and multimedia all designed to bring worshipers closer to God. CROSSTIES meet in our Ministry Center and we offer coffee and refreshments beforehand.
Please join us at 8:45am on Sunday Mornings for this lively worship experience.
Our Traditional Service offers the setting of a sanctuary and incorporates the traditional Methodist liturgy. This service incorporates traditional hymns and other music as presented by our Music Ministries. Communion is offered one Sunday each month.
Please join us for this service at 11:00 AM on Sunday mornings.
Celebrate Recovery addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups. Some recovery programs deal only with alcohol or drugs or another single problem.
Our newest worship gathering for real people, with real stories, to know Jesus and refresh others with his love. Casual and a little more than an hour, great coffee and doughnuts, and weekly communion are just a few of the things you'll experience.
Please join us at 11:00am on Sunday Mornings for a chance to be surprised by "church"
